Ah! Our sweet little beach friends! Piping plovers are one of my favorite birds to watch scurrying along the tide line. Did you know that these little beauties are threatened or endangered in all areas of their range? Increased human activity has greatly affected their nesting areas. On many beaches you will see areas which are roped off - similar to sea turtle nesting areas - to help protect their nests.
